Keep Personal Hygiene In Mind For Food Handling Safety
January 15th, 2012 . by adminWhen it comes to food handling safety, there are some things that most people do not think about when it comes to preventing cross contamination. Proper food handling safety goes beyond making sure that these meats are cooked properly and that the surfaces and utensils used with them are properly washed. What some people overlook in food safety is their own hygiene. Once your hands touch raw meat, those germs and bacteria are on your skin. Touching other surfaces will transfer these germs, so it is important to wash your hands after handling meat and before touching anything else. Another aspect of food handling safety is to make sure that your sleeves are rolled up and watches and rings are removed as well. We often do not notice when these objects come into contact with the food we are handling, but they can transfer bacteria just as easily as skin.
